Happy Valley China: A Personal Adventure Diary-Travel Review

Happy Valley China

Happy Valley Park,China
Happy Valley Park,China

Date: April 15, 2026 | By Sarah from The Review Pulse

Today, I want to share something differnet from my usual product review-a very special personal adventure i had at Happy Valley Park in China.I visisted on April 15 2026,and it was truly one of my most memeorable days of my year.Let me take yoy through my experience with all the personal photos i snapped throughout the day.

My Insights:When i visited this place, the weather was not too hot rather cold at the evening time. So i suggest please check the weather before you plan your visit here don't get deceived by the name of the month(April the month of Spring). My biggest lesson? take your own meal if you are Muslim otherwise like me you just had to take French fries from McDonalds only. Most importantly don't just rush from ride to ride. One or two rides would be enough for you because of your stamina to grab the heart pounding experience becomes low after each ride. Some other tips are :wear the most comfortable shoes and dresses. Don't take pictures on rides, the park provides high quality image processed pictures/videos of you.You just live the moment and buy your precious ones from the park authorities.

Morning Arrival: First Impressions

As I walked through the gates at 9:30 AM, I was immediately struck by the vibrant energy. The sun was shining perfectly, the spring flowers were in full bloom, and there was this electric excitement in the air. I couldn't help but take this photo of the entrance - look at those colors!

The Vintage Charm That Stole My Heart

One of the first things that caught my eye was gorgeous vintage craftmanships work art displays at different places of park. They wasn't just a prop - they felt like stepping back in time! I spent a good 15 minutes here just admiring the craftsmanship and taking photos from different angles.

This vintage rickshaw was my first photo stop - the detail was incredible!

Another beautiful masterpiece was  the clock covered with surrounding beautiful stunning flowers.Between the big attractions, I found myself drawn to the smaller details. This floral clock was so beautifully maintained, and I loved how different areas of the park had completely different themes - from futuristic zones to traditional Chinese gardens.

Facing My Fear: The Roller Coasters!

Okay, confession time: I though i am the bravest when it comes to roller coasters, but when I tried the "็ป้กถ้›„้ฃŽ" (Jue Ding Xiong Feng) Roller Coaster Ride ,it took hours to recover back from that heart pounding heart experience.

The ride itself? Absolutely mind-blowing! That first drop took my breath away (literally - I think I forgot to breathe for a few seconds!), and the loops were smoother than I expected. My heart was pounding, but in the best way possible. This is me right after getting off - can you see the mix of terror and exhilaration on my face?

The Water Ride Surprise ๐Ÿ’ฆ

One of my favorite unexpected moments of that ride was when it passed over the water bed. The coaster plunge into the water and create that massive splash was spectacular! The mist felt amazing in the warm April weather. Don't worry it dont wet you alot just few drops but it was all of sudden that you can't forget.

Afternoon Delights: Food & Parades

By 1:30 PM, I was starving! but i was unable to found any Halal food there, then i found Mcdonald there and i bought fries and cold drinks. The Ice-Creams stalls were also there and they were too cute in their colour schemes and too tasty in their taste. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The afternoon parade was another highlight. The colors, the music, the dancers - it was like a moving festival! I managed to get a pretty good spot near the front and captured this shot of my favorite float.

The energy during the parade was absolutely contagious!

A Slow Train ride

I took a slow train ride to visit the park in slow motion and decided to end my day on that final ride. The transformation from thrilling exciting rides to last slow train ride was very soothing .

Khan Baba Restaurant :A Place to Visit or Not? -a Food Review

Khan baba Restaurant Beijing - Wudaokou Branch, Beijing-a Review blog

A Halal Dining Experience @ Khan Baba Restaurant

A tempting dish of chicken cooked in rich, creamy butter sauce at Khan Baba Restaurant, showcasing the mouthwatering flavors and high-quality halal food served at the Wudaokou branch in Beijing.
Savor the richness of tender chicken cooked to perfection in a creamy butter sauce—just one of the many delicious dishes at Khan Baba.

My Insights:What struck me most about Khan Baba wasn't just the food-it was the peace of mind.As a Muslim traveller in a vast cities like Beijing or Shanghai, fidning a place that is unequivocally Halal and feels culturally familiar can be a challenge.Khan Baba delievered that rare combination of authentic flavor and compete trust. The Butter Chicken wasnt't just creamy; it tasted like it was made with care, nor just for profit.Seeing the phone number printed clearly on their takeaway bags wasn't a marketing gimmick to me;it was a sign of transparency and confidence. In an area like Wudaokou, filled with transient students,Khan Baba stands out as stable, reliable anchor for our community. Its more than a resturant ;its a small piece of home away from home. The only thing i feel bad about this resturant is that, they have not many branches, they need to open more brnaches in different cities of China.

If you are Muslim traveler visisting Beijing and craving a hearty flavour-ful Hala meal, then Khan Baba Rresturant (Wudaoku Branch) is an absoulte must visiting place. It is known for its risch variety of Muslim authentic Pakistani taste. This resturant has reputation of one of the best Halal food spots in the city.

During my recenet,I was completly blown away by the incredible taste ,atmosphere and overall dining experience.Let me walk you through my visits with its pros and cons!.

Location & Accessibility

In Beijing City, Khan Baba is located in the bustling Wudaokou area, a vibrant neighborhood that is home to many international students, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Thanks to its fame and prime location, the restaurant is easy to locate. Whether you're a local or a tourist, the Wudaokou area is well-connected by public transport, so getting to Khan Baba won’t be an issue.

The Wudaokou branch is one of the most popular and reputed among the Khan Baba outlets across China, and it truly lives up to its name. If you are a Muslim visiting Beijing and looking for a great halal food experience, this is the place to be.

Ambience

For ambience i can say,i was impressed by the restaurant’s clean and tidy interiors as soon as i enetred. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with comfortable seating arrangements and a decor that had just the right mix of traditional and contemporary touches. The furniture was sturdy, the lighting was perfect, and the overall atmosphere made me feel right at home.

Relax and enjoy your meal in a clean, welcoming environment at Khan Baba Restaurant in Wudaokou branch, Beijing.

The restaurant's ambiance is ideal for both casual dining and small gatherings. Whether you're visiting alone or with friends and family, the setting is perfect for enjoying a good meal. And the friendly staff only added to the positive experience—everyone was welcoming and made sure our dining experience was flawless.

Menu & Pricing

When it comes to Halal food, Khan Baba offers an impressive range of dishes, including traditional Pakistani and Indian flavors, all cooked with fresh ingredients. For menu and pricing i can say i had a feast for the sense and good for the wallet. As someone who enjoys indulging in the rich flavors of South Asian cuisine, I was eager to dive in!

Plate of delicious Chicken Karhai paired with soft, freshly baked bread at Khan Baba Restaurant, offering a taste of South Asian cuisine in Beijing.
Experience the authentic flavors of South Asian cuisine with Khan Baba’s signature Chicken Karhai and freshly baked bread

I didn't order not very large number of item this time but on menu below were the specialities in their menu:

  1. Chicken Karhai: A rich, flavorful curry cooked with tender chicken and aromatic spices. It was the perfect balance of heat and flavor.
  2. Chicken Botti: Juicy chicken pieces marinated in spices and grilled to perfection—absolutely delicious.
  3. Chicken Biryani: Fragrant and flavorful, the biryani was packed with well-cooked chicken, fragrant rice, and just the right amount of spices.
  4. Butter Naan: Soft, buttery, and perfect for dipping into the curries—this naan was a great accompaniment.
  5. Kachumar Salad: A refreshing side of chopped cucumber, tomato, and onions, providing a light contrast to the rich curries and grilled meats.
  6. Seekh Kebab Chicken: Succulent and full of flavor, these skewered kebabs were a real treat.
  7. Chicken Tikka Botti: Another grilled delight that was tender, juicy, and well-marinated.

Check out the daily specials and exciting options at Khan Baba Restaurant, where every dish is a flavorful journey into authentic South Asian cuisine.

The total cost for all of this delicious food was more than reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and the quality of the dishes. When you’re in a big, often expensive city like Beijing, finding such good food at a reasonable price is a true gem.

Takeaway Experience

One thing that truly stood out to me was how the restaurant packed our leftovers for takeaway. Often, restaurant takeaways can feel like a rushed afterthought, but Khan Baba’s food stayed just as delicious the next day. The packaging was neat, and the food maintained its freshness, allowing us to enjoy it for the next few days. If you’re staying in Beijing for an extended period, I highly recommend taking some food with you to savor later!

Take the delicious flavors of Khan Baba home with you.

Overall Experience

In summary, my visit to Khan Baba Wudaokou was nothing short of exceptional. The food was beyond delicious, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxing meal. From the welcoming staff to the flavorful dishes and great pricing, this restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. Whether you're a Muslim visiting China for the first time or someone living here and craving halal food, Khan Baba is the place to go.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10)

The Only Sad Part!

I think they need to open more branches in differnet places of China specially in Hanghzou city which is also one of the biggest cities of China.

Conclusion

If you're in Beijing and looking for an unforgettable Halal dining experience, make sure to visit Khan Baba. You won’t regret it!

Khanpur dam: Worth Visiting or Not? A Travel Review

Khanpur dam๐ŸŒ„ : A Parasailing Adventure, Scenic Boat Rides & More

Exploring the Beauty of Pakistan๐ŸŒ„

A person parasailing above the vibrant blue waters of Khanpur Dam in Pakistan, soaring under a clear blue sky.
A thrilling parasailing experience over the serene blue waters of Khanpur Dam, Pakistan

When vocation comes we often got confuse where to go with family or firends. After a lot of research i found a place "Khanpur Dam in Pakistan" a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and tranquility .This is a destination that should be on your radar.
Located just outside Islamabad, Khanpur Dam offers stunning views, thrilling activities like parasailing, and the peaceful escape of a resort stay by the water. I had the opportunity to experience this incredible place, and in this post, I’ll share my experience with you—from parasailing to serene boat rides and my honest review of the site.

My Insights: This blog review is based on my real trip to Khanpur Dam in July 2019. The thrill of seeing the dam is not for the first time ,i have visited this place many times, but this time it's quite different as i stayed their in near loduges for few days. The dawn & dusks were so mesmerizing and the peace of morning boat ride were my genuine memories.I didn't take the parasailing ride ,which is why i wont recommoned but this ride was available their and which is why i shared the pictures and people were enjoying that ride too but be mindful of it's risks.I have shared this to give you an honest, personal look at what this place is really like, beyond just the basic facts.

Khanpur Dam: A Scenic Paradise

So guys,in July 2019, I had the chance to visit Khanpur Dam, one of the most picturesque locations located in District Haripur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a distance of 50 km north of Islamabad. Surrounded by hills and lush greenery, the landscape is nothing short of breathtaking. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or an adrenaline-pumping adventure, the dam offers both in abundance. The area around the dam is known for its crystal-clear water and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. And if you visit at the right time, like I did, you can witness stunning dawn and dusk scenes that are simply unforgettable.

Parasailing: A Thrilling Adventure

I must say, one of the main attractions at Khanpur Dam is parasailing, and it was definitely something thrilling to try. The thought of soaring above the dam's waters with the wind in your hair and the vast blue sky around you sounded absolutely exhilarating. However, I didn't try that because i had some concerns about the safety measures. After observing the protocols in place, I didn’t feel as secure as I would have liked, which made me hesitant to go for the experience. If you're thinking about parasailing here, I highly recommend doing thorough research about the operators and asking about their safety procedures to make sure you feel comfortable before taking the leap.

Boat Rides: A Serene Way to Explore

One of the highlights of my trip was the boat rides around Khanpur Dam. Cruising on the water, surrounded by hills and greenery, felt like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The gentle rocking of the boat and the sound of the water made it an incredibly relaxing experience. The views were spectacular, with lush landscapes and calm waters, making it the perfect setting for some quiet reflection or even a leisurely picnic.

Staying Near the Dam: a Hotel Review

  • I stayed in a hotel "Lake View" in year 2019 in the month of July.
  • My room was near Khanpur Dam, which offered a beautiful view of the water.
  • The hotel room was clean, perfect for two people, air-conditioned, and comfortable.
  • The bathroom was average.
  • The decor and furniture was normal.
  • The atmosphere was calm and serene, allowing me to enjoy the beauty of nature while still being close to all the adventure activities the area has to offer.
  • Outdoor sitting area was the best part of this hotel.
  • There had a fireplace, but we didn't try.
  • One highlight was the free breakfast, which was delicious. The tea and snacks we ordered delivered promptly, and we were very happy with the service.

The hotel price :

Rs.2000/night

Hotel Location:

A view from my hotel window. The calm waters of the dam and the visible water activities area created a perfect setting for relaxation and adventure.

I rate this stay 100% peaceful because of natural surroundings which made it the perfect getaway for relaxation.
But the best part was waking up to the breathtaking views each morning—absolutely mind-blowing every time!

Dawn & Dusk: The Best Views in Khanpur Dam

If i say what will i always remember about Khanpur dam is "The natural beauty of Khanpur Dam" especially mesmerizing at dawn and dusk. I made sure to wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dam and hills, and the view was absolutely worth it. The soft light illuminating the misty hills and the shimmering water was a sight I’ll never forget. Similarly, the sunsets were equally stunning, with the sky turning into a mix of warm orange and pink hues, reflecting beautifully on the water.

Honest Review: A Must-Visit, But Keep a Few Things in Mind

So just wrap it up now, overall, my experience at Khanpur Dam was fantastic. The scenic beauty, adventure activities like parasailing and boat rides, and the resort stay made it a memorable trip. However, there are a few things to consider before planning your visit:

  • Prices: The resort rates are higher as compared to the hotel rates.
  • The boat/Launch ride prices can be a bit high. If you're traveling on a budget, this might be something to keep in mind.
  • Parasailing Safety: While parasailing is an exciting adventure, I did feel that the safety measures could have been better. It’s always good to ensure that you’re comfortable with the safety protocols before taking part in such an activity.

Final Thoughts

My final thought is,despite a few minor concerns about pricing and safety, Khanpur Dam is undoubtedly a must-visit destination in Pakistan. Whether you’re an adventure enthusiast looking for parasailing thrills or someone seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty, Khanpur Dam has something for everyone. The combination of stunning views, relaxing boat rides, and the adventure of parasailing makes this place an unforgettable experience.

If you're planning a trip to Khanpur Dam, make sure to take in the stunning landscapes, enjoy the serenity of the area, and don’t forget to capture the magical moments during dawn and dusk. It’s a place that offers the perfect escape into nature, and it’s definitely worth the visit!

Pakistan Museum of Natural History(PMNH): Worth Visiting? A Travel Review

Pakistan Museum of Natural History(PMNH)-Discover the wonders of nature

Discovering Nature’s Wonders!!

A thumbnail blog of Pakistan Museum of Natural History(PMNH) with its building picture on it and "Baluchitherium", one of the largest land mammals of Pakistan as an image on it.
Pakistan Museum of Natural History(PMNH)-A Review

Introduction

Glass showcasing view of the Pakistan Museum of Natural History, featuring diverse specimens of plants, animals, rocks, and fossils.
Showcasing the country's rich biodiversity and geological treasures.

In 2019, I had an opportunity to visit the Pakistan Museum of Natural History, a  institution that houses over 300,000 specimens of plants, animals, rocks, minerals, gemstones, and fossils. This museum is a testament to the rich natural heritage of Pakistan and the dedication that goes into preserving it.****

My Insights: The museum is worth a visiting place and all credit goes to it's managment team.Mostly family comes here and it has a complete safe atmosphere, but you must spare a whole day here to spend and descover each and every section of it specially the top floor where artifically stuffed dianosaurs roaring in the area hall-was awesome at all.

A Grand Entrance

As i stepped into the museum, I was immediately captivated by a stunning sculpture of the Baluchitherium, one of the largest land mammals to have ever existed. This magnificent creature, known as the "beast of Balochistan," roamed the earth around 30 million years ago. The sculpture, located at the entrance, serves as a powerful reminder of the incredible history that this museum represents.

The awe-inspiring sculpture of the "Baluchitherium" welcomes visitors, embodying the grandeur of one of the largest land mammals to ever roam the Earth.

Exploring the Sectors

  • Biodiversity Section

I was amazed by the variety of birds, animals, and plants displayed, each representing different regions of the country. The Biodiversity section was a vibrant showcase of the diverse flora and fauna found across Pakistan. This section highlighted the ecological richness of Pakistan and the importance of conservation efforts.

  • Ocean Section

The Ocean section was mesmerizing, featuring the marine life native to Pakistan's waters. I was particularly struck by a massive whale skeleton that dominated the area, alongside various other fascinating fish species. This exhibit beautifully illustrated the richness of our oceans and the need for marine conservation.

  • Skeleton Section

Walking through the Skeleton section, I encountered the remains of various dinosaurs. It was awe-inspiring to see these ancient creatures up close and to learn about their place in the history of our planet. Each skeleton told a story of a time long gone, sparking my imagination about the world they inhabited.

The Skeleton section features a magnificent giant dinosaur skeleton

  • Gemstones Section

The Gemstones section was a feast for the eyes, filled with exquisite and high-quality gems collected from northern regions of Pakistan, including Peshawar, Swat, and Balochistan. The colors and clarity of these stones were breathtaking, showcasing the natural beauty and wealth of our geological resources.

  • Rocks and Minerals Section

This section highlighted the diverse range of rocks and minerals found throughout Pakistan. It was fascinating to see how varied our geological landscape is, with each specimen telling a story of the earth's history and the processes that shaped it.

  • Virtual Orientation Section

The Virtual Orientation area provided an engaging graphical simulation of the museum and its exhibits. This modern touch made navigating the museum easier and more interactive, enhancing the overall experience.

A Message of Peace Stone

One of the most poignant exhibits I encountered was a stone gifted from Japan, known as the Peace Stone. This stone, a symbol of hope and reconciliation, was sourced from Hiroshima, where the atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945. The presence of this stone in the museum serves as a powerful reminder of the necessity of peace in our world, encouraging visitors to reflect on the importance of harmony and understanding among nations.

Dinosaur Stone-age Experience

One of the most thrilling parts of my visit was the Dinosaur Experience section, where I found life-sized dummies of various dinosaurs. Some of these impressive models were animated, moving artificially and accompanied by realistic sound effects that mimicked their roars. This immersive experience transported me back to the Stone Age, making me feel as though I was walking among these magnificent creatures. It was a wholesome experience that truly brought the prehistoric world to life.
